ABSTRACT
There is ongoing interest in nutritional screening tools in pediatrics which certainly facilitate the identification of children at risk for malnutrition, who need further assessment and possible nutritional intervention. Thus implementation of a nutritional care process incorporating nutritional screening in clinical practice seems to be of great importance for proper nutrition support. The choice for a specific tool depends on various factors. Furthermore there is a lack of a universal screening too of infants and children for nutritional risk. This workshop aims to provide an overview of recent progress in pediatric nutritional screening methods and to present their implementation in clinical practice, in specific pediatric populations such as neurological, cancer e.c.t. as the part of the overall process of improving nutritional care in the pediatric settings.
